Summary:

The Customer Service Specialist provides outstanding service to our customers while managing the order process and ensuring delivery of timely and accurate documentation to the shop floor.

We are looking for an upbeat individual with salesmanship abilities, great communication skills via email, over the phone and in person, technical savviness and a strong desire to beat customer expectations every time!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage order entry and processing, including but not limited to: filing work orders, creating job order files, compile and release order packets to the shop floor (drawings, work orders, QA Sheets), scan all order documents and certifications into resource planning business systems
  • Serve as a main point of contact for the customer throughout entire order process providing constant communication with regards to quoting and pricing assistance, order changes to quantity and drawings, revision changes, scheduling, order fulfillment and dispute resolution. Collaborate with scheduling in an ongoing manner.
  • Foster customer relationships: manage and ensure the success of MacKay Manufacturing, Inc. customers including ongoing account management, customer satisfaction, and account maintenance. May include inside sales.
  • Add overages to material orders for each job utilizing judgment
  • Maintain and release master changes to documentation per supervisor requests
  • Perform customer specific review of vendor management inventory systems as required by the customer
  • Overtime may be required as business needs demand
  • Shift changes may be required as business needs demand
  • Comply with all quality requirements while continually maintaining and improving the effectiveness of MacKay's quality management system
  • Implement daily practices of Lean such as 5S, continuous improvement, and contribute to ongoing process efficiency
  • Support and participate in department goals as well as company goals
  • Look for opportunities to learn and share your knowledge and skills
  • Punctual attendance; at your work area at shift start
  • Treat others with respect and maintain a professional attitude
  • Be honest in all dealings
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills; over the phone, in person and via electronic communications. Ability to remain professional, courteous and helpful at all times
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • 3+ years customer service experience required, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, custom production techniques and lean manufacturing concepts is desirable
  • Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel (build/link tables, create graphs)
  • 5+ years ERP/MRP/CSM software experience required

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as algebra, units of money and quantities. Ability to apply concepts such as tolerance, fractions, and other measurements.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several concrete variables.
