Summary:

Identify opportunities for automation of company and manufacturing processes, work with user groups to develop and improve applications using a variety of programming languages and interfaces. Writing and testing code, debugging programs and integrating applications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a member of our Development Team you will be responsible for providing production support and new code development
  • Understand, analyze, design, and develop web based systems
  • Perform software coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks for processes in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards
  • Contribute to task identification, work effort estimates, and work schedules for development and maintenance activities
  • Participate in the analysis and definition of efficient, cost effective application solutions which support business processes and functional requirements
  • Implement new features for existing applications and assist in building new applications based on internal customer specifications
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge of current technology and strong awareness of future technology within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Overtime may be required as business needs demand
  • Shift changes may be required as business needs demand
  • Comply with all quality requirements while continually maintaining and improving the effectiveness of MacKay's quality management system
  • Implement daily practices of Lean such as 5S, continuous improvement, and contribute to ongoing process efficiency
  • Support and participate in department goals as well as company goals
  • Look for opportunities to learn and share your knowledge and skills
  • Punctual attendance; at your work area at shift start

Job Requirements:

  • 4 or more years' experience in software development, preferable in a manufacturing environment  
  • Experience with database driven, web based applications required
  • Experience with or openness to learn a variety of programming languages including C#, C++, Python, Javascript, HTML, VB
  • Knowledge in understanding application architecture, security model, module-specific database schemas, relational tables, and common APIs/staging tables
  • Experience troubleshooting a variety of systems and software related problems, including Windows, Windows Server, OS X, Linux, iOS and Android 
  • Experience with MS SQL Server preferred 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving
  • Maintain a good working relationship with others in the company, demonstrating the ability to handle conflict constructively, following and reinforcing company policy.
  • Ability to handle positive and negative feedback from co-workers and management
  • Ability to write detailed documentation for applications and processes

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
