The Systems Administrator's two main responsibilities are problem solving and the ability to anticipate problems before they happen.  Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain database servers and system security
  • Analyze system performance; identify problems and implement solutions
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computer hardware and software 
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair network hardware and software
  • Monitor network performance and connectivity
  • Perform security, monitoring and account access management
  • Wireless networking, TCP/IP, and remote connectivity knowledge
  • Testing and evaluating hardware and software products.
  • Administer and maintain company phone system
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge of current technology and strong awareness of future technology within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Overtime may be required as business needs demand
  • Shift changes may be required as business needs demand
  • Comply with all quality requirements while continually maintaining and improving the effectiveness of MacKay's quality management system
  • Implement daily practices of Lean such as 5S, continuous improvement, and contribute to ongoing process efficiency
  • Support and participate in department goals as well as company goals
  • Look for opportunities to learn and share your knowledge and skills
  • Punctual attendance; at your work area at shift start
  • Treat others with respect and maintain a professional attitude
  • Be honest in all dealings

Job Requirements:

  • Four or more years' experience in systems administration, preferably in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience with MS SQL Server preferred 
  • Experience troubleshooting a variety of systems and software related problems, including Windows, Windows Server, OS X, Linux, iOS and Android 
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Server, Domain controller and related applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving
  • Maintain a good working relationship with others in the company, demonstrating the ability to handle conflict constructively, following and reinforcing company policy.
  • Ability to handle positive and negative feedback from co-workers and management
  • Experience with Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse solutions and ETL tools 
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex SQL, stored procedures and database functions 
  • Familiar with common practices for data redundancy and file backup 
  • Experience with user and domain management (Active Directory, email, etc.) 
  • Experience with Exchange server management 
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting a LAN 
  • Ability to write detailed documentation for applications and processes

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as tolerance, fractions, and other measurements.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
